Alice Helen Willmann, 98, passed away on Wednesday, March 9, 2022 at Goodall-Witcher Nursing Facility. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, March 12, 2022 at Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor R. Don Wright officiating. Burial will follow at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.

Alice Helen Hampe Willmann was born September 25, 1923 on the family farm in the Cayote Community. She was the fifth of seven children born to Henry and Anne (Walsleben) Hampe. She grew up on the family farm in the Cayote Community. She attended Cayote School and graduated from Clifton High School.

She was baptized as an infant at St. John Evangelical Church in the Bismarck Community. She reaffirmed her baptismal covenant in St. Paul Lutheran Church in the Pleasant Hill Community. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church at the time of her death, on Wednesday, March 9, 2022 at Goodall-Witcher Nursing Facility.

Alice met her future husband at a Lutheran Youth Gathering in McGregor, prior to his departure into the military service. She married Arthur Willmann on January 22, 1947 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Pleasant Hill. To this union three children were born; Norma Ruth, Milton Glenn and Carl David. Arthur and Alice purchased a farm in the Cayote Community where they raised their family. Arthur died in April 1996. Alice continued to live on the farm until she fell in December 2014. After a brief hospitalization she moved into Goodall-Witcher Nursing Facility in January 2015. She remained there until her death.

Alice was active in her church and community throughout her life. She served in various offices of Trinity Lutheran Church Women, taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. Alice was an honorary member of Clifton Civic Improvement Society having served as its president in the 1980'S. During her lifetime she was a member of Goodall-Witcher Hospital Auxiliary, Clifton PTA, and was one of the original workers at the Pot of Gold. She was an avid volunteer for the Clifton Elementary Character Reading day, always dressing her part and bringing treats. Alice collected flower vases from throughout the United States and world when she and Arthur traveled. During her lifetime, she enjoyed crocheting, sewing, quilting, gardening and her flower beds. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren participate in sports and band contests as she was able, in later years Bingo at the Goodall-Witcher Nursing Facility.

Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur, her parents, siblings; Arnold Hampe, Clara Zuehlke, Oscar Hampe, Lydia Knust and Lavern Adams, daughter-in-law Betty Willmann and son-in-law Joe Bob Ficklin.

She is survived by her daughter, Norma Chaney and husband Doug; sons, Milton Willmann and wife Karen, and Carl Willmann and wife Sharon, grandchildren: Andy Ficklin, Karen Hanson (Darren), Alinda Cox, Rachel Gros (Tom), Adam Willmann (Heather), Grady Burden (Brandi), Jennifer Riggs (Kyle), Nicholas Willmann (Deanna) and Natalie Brooks (Charlie); 16 great grandchildren; and sister Louise Oswald.

Memorials may be made to Goodall-Witcher Nursing Facility, Trinity Lutheran Church, Lutheran Sunset Ministries Hospice or the charity of your choice.
