Amie Joyce (Erickson) Laurence

Amie Joyce (Erickson) Laurence, 88 of Valley Mills, passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2020 at Lutheran Sunset Ministries, after suffering a stroke.

Visitation will be Thursday, May 21, 2020 at Clifton Funeral Home in Clifton, TX from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.  Services and Burial will be at 10:00 on Friday, May 22, 2020 at Valley Mills Cemetery, Valley Mills, TX. CDC guidelines of Social Distancing will be enforced.

Amie was born seven miles west of Clifton to John Ennis & Lillie (Larson) Erickson on March 30, 1932.  She was Baptized and Confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church of Clifton.  Amie graduated from Clifton High School on May 26, 1950. She worked at the Conoco Cafe, Walls Industries, and Southern Burger Bar. She Loved doing handwork and always had a project that she was working on, and loved to share her work with others.

Amie married Billy Gene Laurence on November 4, 1950. They had 4 children, Billy Gene Jr, John Albert, Terry Joyce, and Lloyd Allen (stillborn).

They loved traveling and camping in their 5th wheel Travel Trailer, especially when children and grandchildren could join them.

She was preceded in death by her parents Ennis & Lillie Erickson. Brother Thilman and wife Neta Erickson, Sister Mildred, and husband Louis Outlaw. Son Billy Gene Jr and wife Nancy Laurence and son Lloyd Allen.

She is survived by son John Albert & wife Dusty Laurence, a daughter Terry and husband Robert Curlee.

Grandchildren Sara Laurence, Lee Barnes & Mike, John Allen Laurence & Tina, Amie Lou Balista, Alicia Laurence, Kim Schaefer, Travis Curlee & Chelsea.

Great Grandchildren Madison Shoemake, Kristopher Parr, Trinity Mahoney, Cameron Laurence, Amari Ramirez,  Sarah Elizabeth Grace Goodnow, Maverick McGrath, Cadince McGrath, Kate Schaefer.

Nieces and nephews Bill & Debbie Outlaw, Vicky (Outlaw) & Vance Proctor, Tresa (Erickson) & Craig Davis, Dena (Erickson) & Tim Baugh, and Ennis Erickson.
