Angie Lea Edmiston

October 11, 1963 — July 31, 2022

Angie Lea Edmiston, 58, of Dallas, Texas, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones, Sunday, July 31, 2022. Memorial services will be held at the First Presbyterian Church, Clifton, Texas on Saturday, August 13, 2022 at 1:00 P.M. Visitation with the family in the Fellowship Hall will follow the service.

Angie was born on October 11, 1963 in Eastland, Texas to Ollie Winfrey and Leon Coy Edmiston. She lived in Arlington, Texas during her elementary years. She attended Water Valley Middle School, graduated from Wall High School in 1981, and Angelo State University with a BA in Business in 1985.

Angie moved to Dallas in 1988, where she established her home base and began a highly successful career in the insurance industry that spanned over 30 years. She was consistently recognized as a top producer for Transamerica Life and was awarded many trips around the world. These trips reinforced her love of exploration which led to many excursions with her friends to lands foreign and domestic. She was an adventure waiting to happen! She loved to tell of her escapades to Germany, France, Prague, Italy, England, Ireland, and of backpacking in the rain in Spain and rafting on the Colorado River, all the while creating memories and solidifying lasting friendships.

Her pride and joy were her nieces and nephews. She was their biggest cheerleader. Always being one of the loudest, proudest, and most “decked” out fan at the Baylor Bear and Tulsa Hurricane football games and at ALL of their events. She cherished and supported them in all their endeavors. More than just their aunt, she was their trusted advisor, and their loyal and devoted friend.

Angie loved BIG and cared BIG, so of course she needed a BIG companion she could lavish this on. She adopted Reba, her “big-haired Texas girl” pyrenees pup, who quickly became her trusted canine counterpart. Reba kept Angie on her toes and was by her side for the past 3 years. She delighted in, spoiled, and loved Reba. In return Reba adored and protected Angie…sometimes a little bit too much.

Angie was motivated and had a zeal for life. She never shied away from a challenge, oftentimes seeking them out. This led her to train for and complete the Chicago Marathon for her 40th birthday. Her toughest challenge came three years ago when she was diagnosed with cancer. She fought this battle with the love and support of her family and friends, and faith in God. She continued to show strength, dignity, and fierce courage until the end.

Angie was a daughter, sister, sister-in-law, niece, aunt, and friend. She was positive, fun, beautiful, loving, caring, genuine, passionate, generous, devoted, and courageous. Words cannot truly describe this special soul that blessed our lives for so many years. She was so much to so many and her absence will leave a void in our hearts and our lives. She was ready to meet her Lord and join her brother Clint in heaven. This gave her consolation and peace.

Angie is survived by her parents Ollie Winfrey and husband Robert Evinger of Clifton, and Leon Coy Edmiston and Judy Jones of Rising Star. Her brother Dave Edmiston and wife Aimee of Clifton and their children Isaac, Ella, and Ben. Her sister-in-law Gina Edmiston of San Angelo and her children Cole Edmiston and wife Emory, Evan Edmiston, and Cooper Edmiston. And by many close friends and family. She is preceded in death by her brother Clint Edmiston.
