Clifton

Ann Jeanette Schrank Hollingsworth, 81, of Clifton passed away on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at First Baptist Church, Clifton. Burial will follow at Clifton Memorial Park. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.

Mrs. Ann Jeanette Schrank Hollingsworth, daughter of the late Werner “Lee” Schrank and Ola Windham Schrank, was born February 10, 1940 in Hamilton County, Texas.  She graduated from Jonesboro High School class of 1958.  She lived in Clifton, Texas the last 43 (almost 44) years of her life.  She died peacefully at her home July 24, 2021.

Ann married Walter “Paul” Hollingsworth June 29, 1957, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Aleman, Texas.  After seeing each other at a basketball game in Jonesboro, Texas in 1955, they had a blind date with Bob McCorkle and Bette Campbell on December 3, 1955.  Paul said that he would never have found Ann’s house if Bob had not taken him.  Paul drove many miles going to that house to visit Ann before asking her to marry him.

Paul and Ann lived in Gatesville, Texas when they were first married.  They later moved to Corsicana, then back to Gatesville, and then Clifton, Texas in 1977.  Ann was first and foremost wife and mother.  She was the secretary at Gatesville Primary School for 12 years.  She later worked for A.S.C.S. office in Meridian, Texas before going to work for Bosque County Educational Coop for 15 years before retiring.  Ann served as a Creative Memories Consultant in her retirement.

Ann was a member of First Baptist Church in Clifton.  She was an active member that served and volunteered in many capacities through the years.  She loved God and desired for others to know and love Him as well.  Her strong faith in God strengthened her through 6 years of dialysis, 2 years with a kidney transplant, and then 4 more years of dialysis.  She is remembered as a compassionate lady that selflessly served others and thought of their needs above her own.  She was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, loyal friend, and committed follower of Christ.

Ann had 5 children, 18 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Life with 5 kids was filled with church, revivals, Gospel singings, ball games, vacations, and many memories.  She created photo album scrapbooks for each of the grandchildren.  She made sure to include a Bible verse, plan of Salvation, and “words of wisdom” in each album.  She also made each grandchild a quilt.  She always made each child, grandchild, and great-grandchild feel special and loved.

Ann is survived by her husband of 64 years Walter “Paul” Hollingsworth, son Walter Keith and wife Roxanne Hollingsworth, son Bryan Mark and wife Pamela Hollingsworth, daughter Kimberly Regina and husband Ken Parish, daughter Alicia Ann and husband Keith Smith, and daughter Brenda Leigh and husband Mitch Hoke, 18 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren.

She was adored and will be missed by many.
