Arlen "Buddy" Enger

Arlen “Buddy” Enger, 70, of the Lutheran Sunset Home, passed away Friday, November 30, 2018. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm Monday, December 3, 2018 at the Clifton Funeral Home with Pastor Ryan Peterson of St. Olaf Lutheran Church Cranfills Gap officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service beginning at 2 pm. Burial will follow the service at the Boggy Cemetery.

Arlen was born February 25, 1948 in Meridian, Bosque County, Texas to Ernest Elmer and Audrey Nora Smith Enger of Cranfills Gap, Texas. Arlen was a member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Cranfills Gap where he was baptized June 18, 1948 and confirmed June 9, 1963. Arlen attended Cranfills Gap schools and graduated in May 1967.

Arlen has been residing in the Lutheran Sunset Home for the past several years. He had been sick with stomach cancer.

Arlen enjoyed life and loved to mow the yards of his neighbors and friends during the Spring and Summer months. He enjoyed watching TV, especially the old Westerns. He also loved to play Bingo at the Home and color in his coloring books.

He was preceded in death by his parents. Arlen is survived by an older sister Ann Elaine Enger and a host of friends and family.

Pallbearers will be Kenneth Wiese, Larry Simmons, Joe Dale Reesing, David Witte, Tom Henderson, and Billy Jack Henderson. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Johnson, Kenneth Rierson, Bob Viertel, and Robert Gohlke.

The family would like to especially thank the Lutheran Sunset Ministries and their Hospice program for the care and love extended to Arlen.
