Barbara L. Whitney

Barbara Lynn Whitney, born Barbara Lynn Rachuig on September 27, 1947, peacefully passed away on January 8, 2024, at the age of 76 in Waco, Texas. She was surrounded by her loving family. Barbara was a kind, loving, creative, proud, dedicated, and hardworking individual.

Barbara is survived by her beloved husband of 58 years, Mark O Whitney, and her children, Julie Snyder and husband Mike Snyder, Jason O Whitney and wife  Jaclyn Whitney, and Amy Weir. She was a cherished grandmother to Paige Sorenson, Michael Snyder, Kaylee Snyder, Kolby Kettler, Colten Snyder, McKenzie Whitney, Jolie Whitney, Logan Weir, Hunter Weir, and great-grandson Bryson Ring. Barbara is also survived by her siblings, Sharon Sweatt, Kathy and Barry Abel, Phyllis and Dicky Tyler, and Dave and Melissa Rachuig. Along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Barbara attended Richfield High School and went on to have a successful career at Clifton Lutheran Sunset Home, where she retired as the Activity Director. She was known for her dedication and hard work.

Barbara was a member of the First United Methodist Church, where she found solace and strength in her faith.

In her free time, Barbara enjoyed quilting, sewing, crafts, gardening, tea parties with her granddaughters, raising goats, and spending quality time with her family.

Visitation will be held on January 11, 2024 from  5:00-7:00 P.M. at Clifton Funeral Home, followed by Memorial Services on January 12, 2024 at 10:00 A.M., also at Clifton Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the National MS Society in Barbara's memory.
