Betty Barron

March 14, 1939 — February 3, 2019

Magdalene Elizabeth “Betty” Lasley Barron, 79, of Clifton was welcomed into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior on the morning of February 3, 2019. She is now enjoying a new body free from all pain and suffering. She joined her husband and love of her life, Don, who was there waiting for her. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, February 7, 2019 at the Bosque County Cowboy Church with Pastor Tater Paschal officiating. Burial will follow at Clifton Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 6, 2019 at Clifton Funeral Home.
Betty was born on March 14, 1939 in Sonora, Kentucky to Robert and Lela (Harpool) Lasley. She married James H. Lush in 1955 and together they had five children. In 1971, Betty married Donald E. “Don” Barron. They left Kentucky and made their home in Texas. Don brought with him to this union, five children of his own. Together they loved each of these ten children equally, regardless of blood relation.
Betty was a beautiful woman in every way. She, above all, was a child of God and had a servant’s heart for him and all of his people. Her door was always open, her ear was always ready to listen, there was always a seat at her table and a pillow to lay your head on at her home. Betty’s faith was unwavering, her endurance and strength were never-ending, and her patience was that of a saint.
Betty gained many friends and much respect during her many years as City Secretary for the City of Clifton. Once she retired from the city, she was instrumental in helping her daughter and son-in-law with their new business until she was unable to continue due to her health.
Betty and Don sold their home and moved into the Clifton Sunset Community in 2017. They were blessed to experience the loving care and friendship from everyone there.
Don preceded Betty in death on April 4, 2018. She was also preceded in death by her parents, and an infant brother.
She is survived by her children, Linda (Dave) Schurg of Azle, Bill (Barbara) Barron of Waco, James Lush of Clifton, Evelyn (Ron) Muldoon of Crowley, Cindy (Alan) Whitley of Detroit, Charles (Karren) Lush of Clifton, Laurie Jackson of Oklahoma, Terri (Vaughn) Whitley of Clifton, John (Samantha) Lush of Clifton, and Sheryl (Tim) Jenkins of Detroit; siblings, Robert Louis (Rosie) Lasley, Anthony (Shelia) Lasley, Garland Lasley, Geraldine (Mike) Beumel, and Norman (Phyllis) Lasley, all of Kentucky; also left to cherish her memory are numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and too many friends to count.
Proverbs 31:28 (KJV) “her children shall arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.”
The family of Betty Barron would like to thank everyone at Clifton Sunset Community, Clifton Medical Clinic and hospital staff, Dr. Martha O’Reilly, Dr. Justin Squyres, and a special thanks to her hospice nurse, Brandy of Hospice Sunset.
Pallbearers will be Joshua Barron, Ethan Lush, Todd Lush, Danny Zint, Quint Ford, Richard Estes.
