Betty Hannelore Prisk

Betty Hannelore  Prisk passed away in her Clifton, Texas home on March 9, 2022. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Monday, March 14, 2022 at the Rock Church Cemetery with Pastor R. Don Wright officiating.

Hannelore was born in Nuremberg, Germany in 1937.  She and her family survived the war, although these years had a significant impact on her.  She met the love of her life, Bobby Dean Prisk, while he was stationed in Germany with the US Army.  They married and subsequently spent 30 years moving between America and Germany during his many deployments.  Throughout the many moves Hannelore made a home for their family and was a strong and supportive wife.  Her strength was especially needed during Bob’s two tours of Vietnam and one tour of Korea.  They retired to Clifton, close to his childhood home, in 1987.  But Hannelore never lost the love for her birthplace.  She endured the passing of her son Peter in 2007 and Bob’s death after a long illness in 2010.  Throughout this time Hannelore maintained a quiet strength and determination to carry on.  She travelled frequently to Germany and Australia and indulged her love of cats by lovingly caring for various strays and orphans.  In this she was helped by her daughter Marion.  Her cats were all named according to their personalities and they provided a great comfort to her.

Hannelore will be remembered for her beautiful smile and her love and compassion for all vulnerable creatures.  She is survived by her daughters Marion Prisk of Clifton and Heidi Sturm and son-in-law Glenn Woodward of Sydney, Australia, step-son Garry Sims and wife Cynthia of San Diego, CA, step-daughter Toni Delforge-Burgess and husband Roger of Arlington, TX and grand-daughters Madison, Taylor, Amanda, Melissa, Farah and Lacey.
