Bobby Gene Weir Sr., 80, of Clifton, passed away Sunday, July 15, 2018, at his home surrounded by his family. Services will be at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, July 18th at The Grand Old Gospel Lighthouse in Clifton. Burial will follow at Lanes Chapel Cemetery.
Bobby was born in Mosheim to John “Jack” Reuben and Ina Weir. He attended school in Mosheim. He met the love of his life, Geraldine Pierce, and married on October 14, 1956. The couple had eight children. He was an exceptional husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Bobby loved fishing and was an avid hunter. He worked for Central Freight Lines for thirty-four years. He loved trucking and to most, he was known as the “Blue Goose”.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters; and two brothers.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Geraldine of Clifton; his children, Bobby Jr. and wife, Barbara of Whitney, Vickie Dossey of Lacy-Lakeview, Ronnie and wife, Julie of Laguna Park, Tammy and husband, Larry Townley of Clifton, Pamela and husband, Frank Webster of Corpus Christi, Michelle and husband, Stacy Lueck of Clifton, Jason and wife, Amy of Clifton, and Melissa Weir of San Angelo; fourteen grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and three beloved Yorkies.
