Bonnie Ione Simmons Windham of Clifton, TX died May 4, 2015 at the age of 98. She was born September 18, 1916 in German Valley Community, Hamilton Co, TX to Grover Simmons and Freda Siebel Simmons.
Bonnie married Jessie V. Windham May 28, 1933 in Hamilton, TX. Jessie and Bonnie both attended Mountain View School in German Valley. Even though Jessie was older, they graduated the same year. There were three girls and Jessie in the graduation class. The graduation speaker said for one of the girls to take Jessie for life, Bonnie did.
Jessie and Bonnie lived on their farm in German Valley Community until they moved to Waco. They both played in the Texas Swingsters Country and Western Band. Bonnie played the Banjo and Jessie played the piano. They later had a business called Windham House Leveling on 18th street in Waco. In early 1970's they retired, built a new house on the farm and moved back to the country. They continued to live on the farm until ill health required them to move to Clifton Nursing and Rehab in Clifton.
Bonnie was a member of First Baptist Church of Cranfills Gap.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 75 years, three sisters: Inez Hanes, Bernice Wercham and Ruby.
