Calvin Milton Waller

August 27, 1944 — October 12, 2023

Clifton

Our hearts ache in sadness, and secret tears still flow. What it meant to lose you, no one will ever know.

Calvin Milton Waller 79, of Clifton, Texas, passed away at home surrounded by family on 10/12/2023.

He was born in Dallas, Texas in 1944 to Claude and Margaret Waller, who were loving and attentive parents.

Calvin met the love of his life, Margaret in 1965. Excited to start their new lives together, the two were married at Peoria Baptist Church on 8/27/1965. They enjoyed 58 wonderful years together before his passing.

Calvin and Margaret couldn’t wait to start a family of their own, and their children meant the world to them. Sherrie Bradley, Calvin Waller, and Barbara Dunlap and spouse Craig.

Though he loved his wife and children, his favorite role was that of a grandparent. He treasured his time with his five grandsons, Tyler Dunlap and spouse Lauren, Justin Bradley and spouse Marybeth, Cody Dunlap and spouse Megan, Zach Bradley, and Taylor Bradley, and loved being their Papa, never failing to provide sweet snacks and laughs. He also took great pride in watching his great-grandchildren grow: Kase Dunlap, Bentley Bradley, Charlie Dunlap, Logan Dunlap, Caleb Dunlap, Abigail Dunlap, and Kinsey Bradley.

Calvin served in the Army and National Guard from 1962 to 1969 as a medic. His work life consisted of working with his father as an upholsterer and owning his own upholstery shop and working as a truck driver for Lhoist North America for many years.

Calvin enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. Most of all he enjoyed camp cooking and was known for his camp breakfast.

Calvin will always be remembered for his generosity and the way that he loved to be surrounded by family. We’ll always imagine hearing his laugh and the stories he would tell (some embellished for fun).  We couldn’t have asked for a better spouse, parent, grandparent, and will miss him every day. His memory will live on in the hearts of all those who loved him. The time we had with him was not enough, but we will cherish the memories we were blessed with.

Calvin was preceded in death by his parents Claude and Margaret Waller and his youngest grandson Taylor Bradley. He is survived by his spouse Margaret Waller, children Sherrie Bradley, Calvin Waller, Barbara Dunlap, and spouse Craig, his grandsons Tyler Dunlap and spouse Lauren, Justin Bradley and spouse Marybeth, Cody Dunlap and spouse Megan, Zach Bradley and seven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings Betty Waller, Mark Waller and spouse Caroline, Elizabeth Jones, and Pam Duncan and spouse Ray.

Memorial Service to be held on 10/28/23 at 1:00 pm at Clifton Funeral Home and fellowship with friends and family to follow at 262 County Road 4270, Clifton, TX.
