Carol Ann Baker, a beloved figure in the lives of many, passed away peacefully on February 16, 2025, in Clifton, Texas. Born on January 15, 1948, in Shawnee, Oklahoma, Carol was a cherished daughter of Roy and Laverna Casteel Franks. She dedicated her life to service, both in her professional career and in her community, exemplifying kindness and compassion throughout her years.

Carol graduated from Wynnewood High School in 1966, laying the foundation for her impressive educational background. She earned a Bachelor's in Business from the University of Oklahoma in 1970 and later received an Associate's Degree in Medical Lab Technology from Grayson County College in 1990. Her commitment to her field culminated in a Bachelor of Science Degree from Southeastern Oklahoma University in 1994, along with a Blood Bank Technologist Certification from the American Society of Clinical Pathology.

In her career as the Executive Director of the Texoma Regional Blood Center in Sherman, Texas, Carol made a significant impact before retiring in 2011. Her professional achievements were matched by her personal attributes; she was a caring, loving, and compassionate individual who was known for being a great listener and a source of joy for those around her. Carol embraced everyone with open arms, often becoming a second mother to her son's circle of friends during their formative years. Her innate ability to connect with others created bonds that spanned beyond mere acquaintanceship.

Carol had a variety of interests that enriched her life and the lives of others. She enjoyed sewing, painting, playing the piano, and attending live music events. Her passion for charity fundraising showcased her dedication to making the world a better place for those in need.

On September 3, 1969, Carol married William Michael Baker, and together they built a life filled with love and family. Carol was a devoted mother to Adam Baker, Jesse Baker, and Micah Baker. As well as, a loving grandmother to Lauryn Cox and her husband Jeremiah, Isabelle, Annabelle, and Sophia. She took immense pride in her role as a grandmother, finding immeasurable joy in her great-grandson, Riley Resse Cox. Also held dear were her honorary sons, Ryan Allen, Brandon, and Casey Walker.

Carol is survived by her husband, William Michael Baker; her sons, Adam Baker and his wife, Sharla, Jesse Baker and his wife, Meredith Sexton; her sister-in-law Estlyn Blackburn Franks; her niece, Diane Franks-Jane; and her beloved grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Laverna Casteel Franks, and her brothers, Bob and Roger Franks.

Carol Ann Baker will be remembered for her unwavering love, warm spirit, and the lasting legacy of kindness she leaves behind. Her family and friends will carry her memory forward, deeply appreciating the light she brought into their lives.
