Cleveland "Buster" Adlai Mangham III passed away on Thursday, September 21, 2023. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, September 27, 2023, at First United Methodist Church, Clifton. Burial will take place at 2:00 P.M. Friday, September 29, 2023, at Walton Cemetery in Carthage.
He was born on December 5, 1944, in Carthage. Buster, as he was affectionately known, served his country with honor and dedication, joining the Airforce at the young age of 17 and serving for an impressive 30 years.
After retiring from the Airforce, Buster embarked on a new chapter in his life. He pursued a career in law enforcement, joining the police academy alongside his son. In 1995, they both successfully graduated from the academy, ready to uphold the law and ensure the safety of their community.
In his free time, Buster enjoyed indulging in his hobbies. He had a passion for fishing and camping and would often take month-long trips to Colorado or New Mexico. Bird hunting was another favorite pastime of his. Buster was also a dedicated history buff, with a particular interest in World War II.
Buster leaves behind a loving family who will cherish his memory. He is survived by his sons, Adlai Mangham and wife Pam, Tony Mangham, and Josh Mangham. He is also survived by his brother, Eddie Mangham, and sister, Debbie Stanford and husband Terry. Additionally, Buster leaves behind eight grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
Buster was preceded in death by his parents, C.A. and Gloria Mangham, his beloved wife, Donna Mangham, and a great-granddaughter, Raeyonna Bible.
Buster's dedication to his country, his commitment to justice, and his love for his family will always be remembered. He will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
