Corine Leach

November 7, 1935 — September 29, 2023

Rio Rancho, NM

Rio Rancho, NM - Corine Davis Leach, 87 passed away peacefully surrounded by her beloved husband, Rex Wendell Leach, her children, and several of her grandchildren.

She is survived by only one of her 8 siblings: Joe Davis, her Husband: Rex Wendell Leach, Sons: James Wendell Leach, and Jonathan Edward Leach, and daughter, Donna Sue Clifton (Gary). Grandchildren: James Clifton (Kalani), Annemarie Tucker, Nichole Pulver (Tim), Jessica Brown (Daniel), Michelle Leach, Robert Leach, Joseph Leach (Kayrnn), Lena Leach, Kristen Peavler (Nate), Crystal Best (Taylor), Kacie Twitchell (Paul), and Kaylee Butler (Graf). Corine is also survived by twenty-eight great-grandchildren, with many more future great-grandchildren to adorn her posterity.

Corine was born in Dawson, Texas to parents Luther Wesley Davis and Maude Blanch Keyser Davis.  She was the second to the youngest of eight children. The Davis family moved to Weslaco, Texas, and thereafter to Rockport, Texas where Corine grew up.  South of Rockport, in Corpus Christi, is where both Rex and Corine met and fell in love. They both were on blind dates, but not with each other. Though they each had different dates, Rex was drawn to Corine because of her beautiful smile and her being so easy to talk to.  Two weeks later they were married and that’s how their story began.

Corine was not only a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother but she was a mother to all. Corine and Rex became foster parents and later brought others into their home, who today still consider them as their second mom and dad. Corine had a love for children and youth of all ages, they loved her, and she loved them. In church assignments, she always wanted to work with children, and they just adored her as she greeted them with her warm, loving, smile and sweet, kind, and gentle nature.

She loved taking long, scenic, drives and enjoying the beauties of nature with her husband, children or grandchildren and a drive alone wouldn’t do, because the drive, her path, always included family.

She deeply cared for the friends she made throughout her life and many of them felt like family, especially since all her brothers and sisters and their families lived at least a full day's drive away. She had a group of elderly friends years ago, called “The Three Amigos” they consisted of Patty, Mary, and her husband George. They took many trips together and just enjoyed life!

Most of all, Corine, cherished spending time with her beloved family. All her thoughts were regarding the welfare and happiness of each member of her family. She would continually be looking for antiques, furniture, clothes, or anything else to help her children, grandchildren, or others, that’s the way she showed her love. And when she went to see one of her children, grandchildren, and sometimes others, you would have thought she bought out Sam's Club.  She would bring large packs of toilet paper, paper towels, Kleenex, paper plates, napkins, food, and snacks of every sort…and always someone’s favorite candy, treat, or ice cream.

Corine, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother will be loved and remembered forever by all her family and friends.  Love is forever and never dies.

Corine was preceded in death by: Mary Davis Hunt, Pat Davis Shafer, Eve Mae Davis Martin, Betty Jane Davis Langston, Johnny Davis, Buford Davis, and Luther Davis Jr. Buford and Luther Davis Jr. were casualties of WWII.

“Till we meet, till we meet, till we meet at Jesus feet.”
