Dalton Moore

Dalton Clark Moore, age 85, passed away on Friday, April 7, 2023 at Baylor Scott and White in Temple.

Dalton was born in Valley Mills, Texas in 1937 to Robert and Audrey Moore and grew up in Bosque County.

He met the love of his life, Betty Elaine Huse, on a blind date in 1955.  They were married on January 19, 1957 and were married for 59 years.

After he and Elaine were married, they moved to Austin where he worked for Carnation Milk.  They later moved to Kansas City, Mo., where he attended railroad school.  After he completed school, he was assigned to the M-K-T Railroad in Muskogee, OK where they lived until 1965.  In 1966, they moved back to Texas and settled in Arlington where Dalton was employed with Cummins Diesel for 19 years.  They lived in Arlington for 34 years before retiring in Cranfills Gap in 2000.

Dalton had a love for trains, motorcycles, and cars of all kinds.  He was a big NASCAR fan and rarely missed a race on TV.  He did his own share of racing in his younger years in Muskogee, OK with a dear friend, Bill Battenfield.  After retirement, he enjoyed keeping his yard mowed, feeding the birds and all the feral kitties.

Dalton is survived his children, Terry Moore of Arlington, TX, Bobby Moore of Arlington, TX and Paula Shivers and husband Jerry of Cranfills Gap, TX.  Brother and sister-in-law, Clayton and Angie Moore of Clifton, TX.  Grandchildren, Ashley, Kevin, April and Zack.  He is also survived by 3 great-grandchildren and many other family and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 15th at 1:00 p.m. with visitation and lunch at 12:00 p.m. at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Cranfills Gap, TX.  Burial will follow at Boggy Cemetery in Cranfills Gap.
