Danny Ray Ivey

Danny Ray Ivey, 70, of Clifton passed away Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2017 at his residence. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, Feb. 4, 2017 at Boggy Cemetery, Cranfills Gap. Visitation will be held from 6:00-7:00 P.M. Friday, Feb. 3, 2017 at Clifton Funeral Home.

Danny Ray Ivey was born January 28, 1947 in Lampasas, Texas to Bart Leon & Nettie Elizabeth (Ratliff) Ivey.

On October 1, 1966 Danny married the love of his life, Janey Finstad. To the union they welcomed two sons, Darrell Ray and Duane Robbie. Danny attended Cranfills Gap High School and served in the National Guard before he started his career in printing at The Clifton Record. He later opened his own print shop, Commercial Printing, in downtown Clifton. After providing print services for Bosque County for 43 years, he and Janey retired passing the business to their sons.

Danny enjoyed woodwork, fishing and spending time with family. For many years he operated Ivey Wheels creating and refurbishing wooden spoke wheels for Model T cars that he shipped all across the country. He was meticulous in his work and was known for his ability to fix and build things.

Danny was the sweetest, kindest, most giving man. The lives he touched were countless. He loved taking care of his speckledy dog, Chimney, and fed numerous "scrumblies" around his house (deer, raccoons, fox, etc.) He loved his family and friends and truly enjoyed his grandkids, Punky (Chelsea), Peep (Haley), and Took (Dakota). He taught them to always give people the benefit of the doubt.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Janey; sons, Darrell Ivey (Jennifer Harvey) and Robbie Ivey (Carol); grandchildren Chelsea Ivey, Haley Riley (Dustin), and Dakota Ivey; and one great-grandson, Logan Riley; a sister, Kathy Roberts; and a brother, Larry Ivey.

Honorary pallbearers are Robbie Zander, Chad Zander, Jack Kettler, JD Jones, Douglas Culp, Clay Hurst, Wes Burden and Jay Johnson.
