Debra Jean Smith

Debra Jean Smith, 56, of Clifton passed away Wednesday, October 11, 2017, at her residence.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, October 14, 2017, at the Grand Old Gospel Lighthouse in Clifton with Rev. George Watson officiating. Burial will follow at Evans Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 P.M.Friday, October 13, at Clifton Funeral Home.

Debra was born February 8, 1961 in Gatesville to Vernon and Floyce Culp. For many years she worked at Gatesville ISD in the cafeteria. She later worked at Sweetwater ISD and Clifton ISD as a custodian and supervisor.

Being outdoors, traveling, camping, hiking, sight seeing, gardening, and canning brought lots of enjoyment to Debra’s life. She loved to watch the Dallas Cowboys and NASCAR racing. Dale Earnhardt, Jr. was her favorite driver. The most important thing to her was spending time with her family and friends. Her dog, Rowdy, was special to her.

Preceding her in death were her father, Vernon Culp; mother and step-father, Floyce and Dorsel Smith; son, James Hogue; step-sister, Chereta Evans; brother-in-law, Sammy Evans; and niece, Lorie Halsell.

She is survived by her husband, Ronald Smith; daughter, Teira Hogue; son-in-law, Kevin Wright; sisters, Linda Ogle and husband, Jeff, and Angie Culp; brothers, Ben Culp and Mark Culp; step-sister, Gwen Halsell; and step-brother, Alan Smith and wife, Sylvia.

Pallbearers are Ruel Sanders, Bryan Sanders, Jose Culp, Brandon Mobley, Jason Robinette, and Freeman Mullens.
