Don McCrary, 79, of Clifton passed away Friday, November 8, 2019 at his residence. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, November 23, 2019 at First United Methodist Church, Clifton.
Don was born on October 8, 1940 in Luling, TX to Lester and Edith McCrary. In 1959, he graduated from Croxier Tech High and attended Arlington State College (which is now UTA) from 1959-1961. On August 9, 1960, he married Connie Suman in Dallas, TX. He worked for Goodyear and Duofast, and then he and Connie owned Coffee Time Inc. in Dallas. They retired from Coffee Time in 2000. In 1981, they moved to Clifton and decided it was not time to retire so they became the owners of Montgomery Ward until 1985. After their second retirement, they traveled the U.S. on a motorcycle. Don spent 6 years on the Clifton School Board, and 10 years as secretary of the Clifton Cemetery Association. He enjoyed traveling, fishing, and playing dominos.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Cindy McCrary Hensel, and brother, Richard D. McCrary.
He is survived by his wife, Connie McCrary; sister, Charlotte Pickard; granddaughter, Elizabeth Hill; grandson, Tanner Hensel; great-grandchildren, Leigh Renae Hill and Bria Ann Hill.
