Donald "Gene" Hill

Donald Gene Hill, 86, of Clifton, Texas, passed away on April 2, 2024. He was born on September 24, 1937, in Carrollton, Texas. He grew up in Texas and Arkansas.

Donald proudly served in the Air Force, joining right out of Grand Prairie High School. He worked as a jet engine mechanic and helicopter operator, stationed in various locations including Missouri, Mississippi, New Hampshire, Nevada, Japan, Korea, Vietnam, Philippines, and England. After retiring from the Air Force, Donald dedicated his career to Braniff Airlines.

He was a hardworking man who found fulfillment in his work.

Donald will be dearly missed and is survived by his daughter, Connie Hill; stepson, Nick Passiglia; grandsons, Michael Wesley Davis and Sam Sequoia Kuhn; great-grandchildren, Navy Faye Kuhn, Emory Jack Davis, Scottie Faye Kuhn.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Hill; mother, Nellie James; wives, June Guitteau and Josephine; son, Gregory Steven Hill and his siblings, Eustace Hill, Laverne Hill, E.D. Hill, Venus Miller, Stanley Hill, and Marjorie (Margie) Murphy.

Donald’s hobbies included weather watching, enjoying afternoon beers with friends, watching crime dramas, feeding, and spending time with wildlife.

He cherished family gatherings during Thanksgiving and Christmas in Gustine with the Murphys and visiting family in Arkansas. Donald looked forward to family reunions and watching videos of the grandchildren. He enjoyed going to the State Fair of Texas and watching the Dallas Cowboys games!

A service to honor and celebrate Donald’s life will be held on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at 1:00 pm at Clifton Funeral Home, and burial will follow at Clifton Memorial Park in Clifton, Texas.
