Dorothy (Anz) Humphries

Dorothy Humphries, 89, of Clifton, Texas passed away on December 18, 2023. Dorothy Lee Anz was born on December 25, 1933 in Clifton, Texas to parents, Charlie A. Anz and Lena Alice Meinkowsky Anz. She was one of eight siblings. She grew up on a farm in Womack, Texas. Dorothy attended Clifton Schools and graduated from Clifton High School. She joined numerous organizations in school and was a bad mitten champion. Dorothy was a well-known cook and baker. She enjoyed gardening, canning, sewing, and quilting. She loved her family and would do anything to help out family members.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Billy Humphries; son, Russell Benfer, and her seven  Anz siblings, Rosealee Mable, Delbert Charles, Nora Dale, Harold Benjamin, Clearence Henery, Johnny Charles, and Franklin Charles.

Dorothy is survived by two children, Tammy Harris and Ricky Benfer; seven grandchildren, Matt Bonds, Jennifer Harris, Christina Williams, Kimberly Harris, Nathan Benfer, Mindy Webb, and Rusty Benfer. She is also survived by 16 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held on December 28 at 10:00 am at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church Cemetery in Norse, Texas with Pastor Bill Metting officiating. Memorials can be given in honor of Dorothy to Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Norse, Texas.
