Dorothy Marie Manly

Dorothy Taylor Manly, a longtime resident, enthusiastic community servant and Church of Christ volunteer in Clifton, passed away on June 14, 2015 in Anaheim Hills, CA at the age of 88 years. A "Celebration of Life" service will be held on Monday, June 22, 2015 at the Clifton Funeral Home at 10:00 am. A graveside service will be held at Elmwood Memorial Park in Abilene, TX at 3:00 pm the same day.

Dot was the daughter of Edwin Boyce and Mary Nance Taylor from Parkin, AR. Dot graduated from Abilene Christian University and was a member of Delta Theta Sorority. She met Hollis at ACU and they married in 1947. After living in Houston and Dallas, they retired to Clifton where Dot was a co-founder of the Bosque Animal Rescue Kennels and volunteered at the Bosque Museum. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hollis Lee Manly, Jr, and a sister, Bobbye Taylor Ferrell of Fort Smith, AK.

Three daughters, Melissa, Mary and Holly, six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, survive her. Melssia Goodrow Middleton, wife of Derek Middleton of New York, grandchildren, Michael Goodrow of New York and Nicole Goodrow Vennie, wife of Michael Vennie of Iowa and great-grandson, Christian. Mary Wessberg, wife of Dr. George Wessberg of Honolulu, granddaughters Lindsay Lee Hawbaker, wife of LT Kristofer Hawbaker of Florida and great-grandson, Hudson, and Amy Allynn Egesdal, wife of William Egesdal of Honolulu. Holly Leong, wife of Jerome Leong of California, grandsons Austin Leong of California and Travis Leong, husband of Sarah Leong of California, and great-granddaughter Lucy.
