Capt. George Winston Freeman, D.D.S. (retired), 74, from Salado, Texas, passed away on July 21st, 2023.
The Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 29, 2023 at 13:00 in Clifton Funeral Home. The Burial will follow at Clifton Memorial Park. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
George Winston Freeman was born on September 29, 1948, to parents Ross Edwin Freeman and Marinelle (Fincher) Freeman, in Clifton, Texas. He started University in April 1970 and graduated from San Angelo State. In February 17, 1974, entered active duty in the Navy-USN, serving in the following locations:

Capt. Freeman retired from active service on April 1, 1995.
In December 1994, he joined the Dental Clinic at the Central Texas Veterans Health Care System, in Temple, TX., where he served until November 2004.
During Active Duty he received the following awards:
Meritorious Service Medal; Navy Commendation Medal W/ Gold Star; Meritorious Unit Commendation; Navy “E” Ribbon; National Defense Service Medal W/Bronze Star; Navy & Marine Corps Overseas Service Ribbon W/2 Bronze Stars; Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, and Service Award, in appreciation of 25 years of dedicated service to United States Government, from The Department of Veterans Affairs.
George Winston was married to Gladys A. Freeman on February 14, 1993, and they settled in Salado Texas in 1994.
George Winston loved his wife, his family and his country. He traveled the world, visiting Europe, Asia, Latin America, Africa and many other countries overseas. He loved hunting and the outdoors.
Anyone who was a friend or acquaintance of Winston, valued his friendship, his extraordinary generosity, benevolence towards others and kind nature.
Winston was preceded in death by his sister Kitra Scarlett Freeman of Midland, Texas; his father Ross E. Freeman of Midland, TX; his brother, Lanny Ross Freeman, of Beeville, Texas, and his mother Marinelle (Fincher) Freeman, of Midland, Texas. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Gladys Freeman and his brother, Shawn Marchman Freeman of Aledo, Texas; nieces, nephews, sisters and brothers in law and their families.
