Edward Byron Bryn

Edward "Ed" Byron Bryn, 86, of Clifton Texas passed away Friday, May 13, 2016.

A celebration of life service will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Clifton Texas. Burial will follow at St. Olaf Kirke (Old Rock Church), Cranfills Gap, Texas. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday, May 16, 2016 at Clifton Funeral Home.

Ed was born on July 17, 1929 to John E. and Mabel Rogstad Bryn of Cranfills Gap, Texas. He was confirmed into the Lutheran faith at St. Olaf Lutheran Church and continued his unwavering faith until his death.

Ed graduated from Cranfills Gap High School, attended Clifton College where he was on the football team, Texas Lutheran College in Seguin where he obtained his teaching and coaching certificate, and Baylor University. He was a boys and girls basketball and track coach and a football coach in Aleman, Priddy, Lometa and Cranfills Gap. He later was the owner-operator of the Exxon service station in Clifton, Texas. Ed enjoyed his gardening, Baylor Bear sports and spending time outdoors.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Ray Bryn and wife Faye.

He is survived by his son, John Bryn and wife Diane of Blue Ridge, Texas and daughters Cindy Kennedy and husband Gerald of Gatesville, Texas, Patricia Barber and husband Thomas of Waco, Texas, Debbie Henry and husband Steve of China Spring, Texas, and Pamelia Shannon and husband Robert of Kingman, Arizona. He is also survived by six grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren, nephews Dr. Randy Bryn and wife Bonnie of Shreveport, LA and Kirby Bryn and wife Sondra of Locust, NC, and many friends.
