Elvida Larson Faries, 93, of Clifton passed away Sunday, July 30, 2017 at Clifton Lutheran Sunset Home. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, August 5, 2017 at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Clifton.
Elvida Castelle Larson was born in Bosque County, Texas, on February 15, 1924, to Norwegian immigrants Anna Hagen Larson and Lars Larson. Reverend O. T. Boe baptized Elvida at Trinity Lutheran Church in Clifton on March 13, 1924.
Elvida grew up on a farm near Norse as the youngest of eleven children. Rev. Boe confirmed her at Trinity Lutheran Church on June 26th, 1938. In 1942, she graduated from Clifton High School and went on to attend Drawghn Business College in Waco, taking PBX and typing. She married Paul Faries on October 27, 2002. Paul passed on July 11, 2005.
Elvida worked for Hollywood Varsarette, a division of Munsingwear and also for Multi-Amp Corporation in Dallas.
Elvida loved to sing and she was a choir member of Arcadia Park Baptist Church located between Grand Prairie and west Dallas before she came to the Sunset Home in 2006.
Her parents, brothers, and sisters preceded her in death: Clarice Belinda Larson Holt of Houston, John Ledor and Cleo Larson of Clifton, Elmer Otto and Ingabell Larson of Clifton, Lee Arthur and Allene Larson of Clifton, Milford and Tillie Larson of Clifton,
Arnell Julian Larson and Opal Schrader of Clifton, Pernell Owen and Pat Larsen of Temple, Alton and Jennie Mae Larson Enger of Waco, Ira and Anna Lorene Larson Royals of Lorena, Curtis Oscar Larson of Arlington.
She is survived by her sister-in-law, Mrs. Curtis Larson, (Myrtice Nygaard Larson) of Arlington; and numerous nieces and nephews.
