Eva Donner was born December 24, 1938 in Carthage, Mississippi. She was born into the Perkins/Hendrix families which have a proud history as devout Christians and patriotic Americans. The Hendrix Family came to American before the American Revolution, and the 1790 Census listed the family as owning 200 acres of land in the Orangeburg, South Carolina District.
Eva grew up and attended schools in Leake County, Mississippi. She was a Majorette and performed at the 1953 Inauguration of President Dwight Eisenhower. Later she worked at and attended Delta State University. There she became a lifetime member of Beta Sigma Phi International.
Eva was the youngest of 8 siblings, all of whom predeceased her: Mary Jewel, Clayborn, Robert Lee, Leonard, Billy Joe, Betty and Hendrix.
Eva married Dal Donner March 7, 1987 at her sister and brother-in-laws home in Canton, Mississippi. They lived and worked in the Fort Worth area until their retirement, then moved to Clifton, Texas. Eva retired as the Zone Administrative Assistant for Honda Corporation in Irving, Texas, and Dal retired as a Corporate Sales Manager.
They shared a passion for aviation, owned airplanes, and attended aviation events all over American and in Europe.
Eva also had a passion for animals and in her retirement tended to various colonies of ferrel cats which soon became as gentle and loving as Eva herself. Their lives were enriched, made more comfortable, and extended by her loving care.
Eva passed away December 19, 2024 after an illness lasting over a month. She was surrounded and comforted by her husband, her stepson, her loving friend, Rosemarie Hudson, and a caring hospice nurse.
Eva is survived by husband, Dal Donner; stepson Captain Paul Donner & Companion Theresa Nguyen; brother-in-law & sister-in-law Lee and Lee Ann Donner; nieces Betty and Linda and numerous other special and loved kin. Her faithful and dear friends who worshiped with her, prayed with her, laughed with her and journeyed through life with her must be recognized: Mary Smith; Rosemarie Hudson; Millie Hinson; Connie McCreary; and Debra Moberg. Thank You for being part of her wonderful life!
