Garland Humphries 89, went to be with the Lord April 11, 2015 at William R. Courtney Veterans Home in Temple. Visitation will be Monday from 6-730pm at The Clifton Funeral Home Chapel in Clifton and a Funeral Service will be held Tuesday at 2pm at The Clifton Funeral Home Chapel.
Garland was born August 7, 1925 in Seminole, Texas to Arnold and Minnie Humphries.
He served in the United States Navy in the early 1940's for two years on the USS Pennsylvania. He was a carpenter by trade and worked for various construction companies in Dallas and Waco.
He is preceded in death by his wife Lavaine, son Leonard, and brothers Leonard, Rusty and Billy.
He is survived by daughter-in-law Patsy, granddaughter Lauri Brown and great-granddaughter Katie Brown, sister Claudine Young and her husband Buddy, two brothers Claude Humphries and wife Lola, Nolan Humphries and wife Shirley, numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to the Turnersville Community Center in Turnersville and the Turnersville Cemetery Association.
