Gerald Borom

Gerald Borom, 93, of Cranfills Gap passed away Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at Goodall-Witcher Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, June 8, 2019 at First United Methodist Church, Cranfills Gap. Burial will follow at Boggy Cemetery. The family asks that everyone please wear casual, Comfortable attire.

Gerald was born August 29, 1925 in China Grove, Alabama to George and Lucy (Williams) Borom. In 1943, he graduated from Luverne High School and joined the U.S. Navy, serving from 1943-1946 during WWII. On January 1, 1943, he married Eloise Martin. They were married for 59 years until her passing in July of 2002. Gerald was the General Manager of La Reata Ranches for many years, and he enjoyed operating heavy equipment. He was running a bulldozer past the age of 80. Gerald was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Cranfills Gap. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eloise Borom.

He is survived by his sons, James Matthews, Pat Borom and wife, Mary, Lewis Borom and wife, Christine, and William Borom and wife, Barbara; daughter, Martha Dickey and Husband, Kenny; longtime friends, Phyllis Everage, Patricia Dake-Meyer, Rodney Brown, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
