Gerald Ray Goodwin

A Celebration of Life will be held for Gerald Ray Goodwin on January 14, 2023, at Oak Grove Baptist Church in China Spring, Texas from 4-6 P.M. Location of Church is 614 Oak Grove Loop.

Gerald Ray Goodwin age 64 of China Spring, Texas passed away on December 21, 2022. He was born in Gatesville, Texas on March 10, 1958. He grew up and lived in Moody, Texas for many years. Gerald worked for the city of Moody and was employed there for 16 years. He was named employee of the year in 1981.

Gerald married Karen Thomas on December 8, 1979. To this union was born two children, Joshua and Talena. The family moved to China Spring in 1989 where the children were raised. Gerald was a plumber at Goodwin Plumbing and worked there for 16 years and continued plumbing until his retirement in 2020.

Gerald Ray was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents and one sister.

He is survived by his wife Karen, son Joshua and daughter Talena. Brothers Darrell and Ferrell and sister Melinda. His grandchildren and light of his life, Shawn, Justin and Madelin. Brother-in-law and golfing buddy Greg Brown. Gerald’s dearest friend Jerry Smith. His friends Sandy and Al Lynch, and numerous other relatives and friends.
