Glen Dale Amundson

Glen Dale Amundson, 87, of Clifton passed away on Sunday, July 2, 2023. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, July 7, 2023 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church at Norse. Burial will follow at Norse Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 P.M. Thursday, July 6, 2023 at Clifton Funeral Home.

Glen, was born February 26,1936, at the Quested Place in Norse, Texas, to Axel Julius Amundson and Josephine Matilda Erickson.

Glen was baptized by Pastor Thorsen, March 29th, 1936, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, he was confirmed June 11, 1950 by Pastor Beaver at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church.

On May 3rd 1957, Glen married Frances Melina Fisher, in Ardmore, Oklahoma, they had one son.

Glen attended Clifton Schools all 12 years, after graduation in 1954, he went to work at Sears for a year, then he went to work for Texas Instrument for 13 years.

In 1969 Glen and Frances moved back to Clifton, where he worked for Gibsons for 18 years. In 1987 he went to work for School Systems, until he retired in 2006, due to health concerns.

Glen was a lifetime member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church at Norse, he was very active in various roles in church, including President, Deacon, Trustee, Usher and served on Alta Committee, he enjoyed working with the Smorgasbord and Men in Mission. Glen loved his Church home, he loved fishing, hunting, working in his garden and yard. He enjoyed cooking for his family, and family get togethers at his and Fran’s home.

He was preceded in Death by, their son, Richard Dale Amundson; Brothers, Lee Arnell Amundson, Ervin Edgar Amundson, Selmer Almer Amundson, Alvin Ernest Amundson, Johnny Lloyd Amundson; Sisters, Jewell Adeline Amundson Stanford, Doris Lauann Amundson Olsen.

Glen is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Fran Amundson and many nieces and nephews he loved very dearly.
