Glenda Sue Harris

Glenda Sue Harris, 72, of Clifton went to heaven Wednesday, May 16, 2018, at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center-Hillcrest in Waco. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 19, 2018, at the Grand Old Gospel Lighthouse in Clifton with Kenny Baker officiating. Burial will follow at Clifton Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Friday, May 18, at Clifton Funeral Home.

Glenda Sue Harris was born on June 1, 1945 in Decatur, TX. She grew up in Fort Worth and attended Poly Tech High. She married the love of her life, John Edward Pierce, on June 10, 1961. They served together in ministry for many years. John Edward passed in 1995. In 1998, God brought Don Phillip Harris into her life and they were married on June 12, 1998.

Sue was an amazing mother and loved spending time with her family. Sue and John founded The Lighthouse in 1984 and she served in every position in the church including Worship Leader, Sunday School Teacher, Board Member, and ANYTHING else that needed to be done. She truly had a servants heart. After John had passed, she married Don Harris and continued to serve her church and the community. She lived in Clifton, Texas for 57 years and she worked for the City of Clifton for 13 years. Sue enjoyed traveling, music, reading, camping, shopping, garage sales, fishing, and making memories with her grands.

Sue is survived by her children, Sherry Minatra and husband, Michael, John Pierce, Jr. and Tarja, and Angela Morgan and husband, Dustin; grandchildren, Jon Rantz Pierce, Keith and Erin Baker, Kenny and Brandi Baker, Raven Ridings, John Edward Pierce, III, Ruby Marie, Cody Reed, Jean-Ann Baker, Kelsey and Cody Sivils, Dillon Baker, and Molly Peveler. She is also survived by her sister, Helen Floyd; and brother, John Castleman and wife, Sandy; children by marriage include, Kevin, George and James Harris. Sue had numerous great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Bertha Castleman; husband, John Edward Pierce; husband, Don Phillip Harris; and grandson Jaxon.
