Hattie Evelyn (Sedberry) Dooley

Hattie Evelyn Dooley, 94, of Clifton, passed away in the comfort of her home on Wednesday, March 22, 2023. Her service will be at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, April 1st, at the Clifton Funeral Home with Rev. Roosevelt Fields performing the Eulogy. Fellowship following the service will be held at Cumberland Presbyterian Church of America at 90121 S. Hwy 6 in Clifton, Texas.

Hattie Evelyn Dooley was born January 29, 1929 to the parentage of Willie and Alice Sedberry of Clifton, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Elzie Dooley, Jr.; her daughter, Angela Marie Jackson; her step-daughter, Sonya Dooley; her granddaughter, Roxanne Dooley; four brothers, Clarence Sedberry, Willie Sedberry, Jr., E.B. Sedberry and Allison Sedberry; and four sisters, Pauline Sedberry, Dorothy Kelly, Ellen Jackson and Frankie Willis.

Hattie grew up in the Bosque County community and attended school at Clifton ISD. At an early age, Hattie joined Clifton Cumberland Presbyterian Church and was a faithful member until her death. She was the matriarch of the Sedberry family and well loved by all. In her early years, Hattie resided in Waco where she was married to Howard Jackson and from that union came one child, Angela Marie Jackson, a beautiful daughter with an amazing spirit. Hattie fell in love with Elzie Dooley, Jr. and moved back to Clifton where they made a home and raised their family for almost four decades until her husband’s death.

She leaves to cherish her memory: one grandson (son), Justin Kyle Jackson of Clifton Texas; three great-grandsons, Justin Jackson, Jr. of Waco, Texas, Jace Jackson and Jayden Chambers of Clifton, Texas; two great-granddaughters, Angela Renee Nevaeh Chambers of Clifton, Texas and Christa Leah of Waco, Texas; two stepsons Elzie Dooley, III of Dallas, Texas and Richard Steward of Waco, Texas; two granddaughters, LaToya Dooley of Waco, Texas and Trenessia Smith of Dallas, Texas; five grandsons, Elzie Dooley, IV, Christopher Edmond and Demondre Dooley of Dallas, Texas and Shemarcus Dooley and Shemar Dooley of Waco, Texas, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and dear friends.
