Herbert (Herbie) P. Haschke, Jr. went to heaven October 9. 2023 following a short illness. He was born to Herbert and Olga Haschke in Houston, Texas December 9, 1938. He graduated From Lamar High School, Houston. He attended The University of Texas, receiving a BBA Degree (Accounting) and a Law Degree from The University of Texas School of Law. He practiced law with Price Waterhouse for 25 years before retiring in 1982. He had a private law practice in Tulsa where he also was extremely busy with volunteer projects. He opened a practice focusing on Estate Planning upon moving to Clifton including pro bono legal advice to clients. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Clifton.
He is survived by son, Paul (Tracy) Haschke, and two grandchildren, Morgan and Beckman; two sisters, Karen Harrison, Clifton and Janis (Joe) Gibson, Lead Hill, Arkansas; nephews, Kevin Harrison, Austin, Buck Gibson, Searcy, AR and Jesse Gibson, Little Rock, AR. He also has many loving and admiring cousins who will always treasure his wit, love, and hearty laugh.
Herb loved football and all competitive sports, especially his beloved Texas Longhorns. He enjoyed fishing of all varieties, treasuring his time with family at Ferndale Fishing Club close to Pittsburgh, Texas. He enjoyed all kinds of events where he could meet and visit with others, saying, “I can talk to the wall.” He became an ardent fan of the Clifton Cub Athletics, loudly coaching from the sidelines. Herb enjoyed life to the fullest with gusto and optimism. His laugh could be heard from any point around him. He was deeply loved by his family and all who knew him.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 11th at 1:00PM at Immanuel Lutheran Church; 911 W 3rd St.; Clifton, TX 76634.
