Herman Marvin Foust was born October 3, 1915 at Ames in Coryell County, Texas, to Annie Caroline Wilhelm Foust and Walter Roberts Foust. He died at Lutheran Sunset Home in Clifton, Texas on May 23, 2016.
On May 27, 1937, Herman married Bessie Opal Harrell. Opal died in 1986 in Clifton, Texas, after 49 wonderful years of marriage.
Herman married Eda Esther Henrietta Dietiker on April 15, 1987 and enjoyed 23 years of married life until her death on November 19, 2010.
Herman, Opal, and Eda had no children of their own, but loved and doted on nephews, nieces, cousins, students, children from the church and preschool, and children of friends. Any time something was needed for the children, Herman was there.
He farmed for the better part of his working life and also served for a number of years as a corrections officer.
Herman was an active member of First United Methodist Church of Clifton, the Loyalty Sunday School Class, and the Clifton Lions Club. The Lions Club recognized him with a plaque as a Melvin Jones Fellow for "Dedicated Humanitarian Service."
Herman is preceded in death by his parents, his wives, and his brothers, Luther, Oscar, and Charlie. He is survived by one sister, Ruby Young, as well as numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
Services were held at First United Methodist Church in Clifton, Rev. Mary Gean Cope officiating. Arrangements by Clifton Funeral Home. Interment at Weaver Chapel Cemetery.
