Inez Johnson

Inez Johnson, 87, of Crawford passed away Friday, July 10, 2015 in Temple. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, July 14, 2015, at Perry Chapel United Methodist Church in Crawford. Burial will follow at Bible Hill Cemetery near Crawford. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 PM, Monday evening at Clifton Funeral Home in Clifton.

Inez was born to Sam and Mary Johnson in China Springs, TX. On July 26, 1948, she was united in matrimony to A. J. Johnson. A. J. preceded her in death in July of 1990.

Inez was a homemaker and later worked in the care-giving field as a CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant).

She was a faithful member of Perry Chapel UMC until she was no longer able to attend. A member of the Heroines of Jericho Court #49, Inez also served on numerous committees within the church throughout her tenure. She touched the lives of many people during her life in unusual ways, always placing the needs of others above her own. She enjoyed gardening and especially canning her own home-grown vegetables and fruit. Growing flowers and maintaining her yard was a source of pride for her.

Inez was preceded in death by her husband, A. J. Johnson; two brothers, Elwin Bradshaw and Jeff Johnson; four sisters, Dorothy Moore, Mary E. Pollard, Irene Roberson, and Frankie Brookins; one granddaughter, Dawn Booker; and great-grandson Kai Louis Ervin.

She is survived by two sons, Albert Johnson and wife, Carolyn, and Martin Johnson, all of Waco; four daughters, Catline Swift and husband, Ron, Vivian Campbell and husband, Robert, both of Crawford, Faye Weddington of Columbus, Ohio, and Daisy Tidwell of Lancaster, CA; twelve grandchildren; and twenty-six great-granchildren.
