Inez Roberson

March 4, 1949 — September 19, 2015

Inez Roberson, 66, of Clifton passed away Saturday morning, September 19, 2015 in Waco. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM, Thursday, September 24, 2015 at Holy Angels Catholic Church in Clifton, with Rev. Isaac Orozco as celebrant. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 PM, Wednesday evening at Clifton Funeral Home in Clifton.

Inez was born on March 4, 1949 in Crawford to Nathaniel and Irene (Johnson) Roberson. In 1967, she graduated from Crawford High School and moved to Clifton. Following high school, she worked in healthcare and attended Goodall-Witcher School of Vocational Nursing in 1974.

After receiving her State of Texas Vocational Nurses License, she was employed by Goodall-Witcher Hospital. During her career, she also worked for Providence and Hillcrest Hospitals in Waco, Lutheran Sunset Ministries in Clifton and Meridian Manor in Meridian.

She loved nursing and was active in the Tri-County League of Vocational Nurses and the Texas League of Vocational Nurses. She was elected "Nurse of the Year" for the Tri-County Association.

Along with her nursing career, she was active in the community, running for Clifton City Council; volunteering at the Food Bank, Red Cross and March of Dimes; and was a member of the Lady's Guild. She was also very active in her church - first at Baptist/Methodist Church in Crawford and more recently at Holy Angels Catholic Church in Clifton. There she was involved with the Thanksgiving basket, nursing home visits, cleaning the church, bake sales, planting flowers, and Eucharistic minister. She loved to sing and was a member of the church choir.

Preceding her in death were her parents; three sisters, Alvelia McGowan, Magvina Gilder, and Annie Marie Roberson; and three brothers, Joe Green Roberson, Tex Moore, and Than Roberson. Survivors include brothers, R. J. Roberson and wife, Patsy, of Waco and Bill Roberson and wife Addie of Bossier City, Louisiana; sisters, Grace Lee Rosemond and husband, Jimmy, of Greer, South Carolina and Ginger Roberson of Port Aransas; as well as many nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
