Irene Huffman

Irene Priscilla Huffman, 90, died April 26, 2019, after several years of cognitive decline. She is now in paradise but is sorely missed by family and friends. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at Clifton Funeral Home. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior, 12 noon at Clifton Funeral Home. Interment will be at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery.

Irene was born December 21, 1928, in Clifton to Selmer and Ida Olson. While her early education was completed in Clifton, she ended up graduating from North Dallas High School. She then went on to graduate co-valedictorian from Clifton Junior College.

In the winter of ’46, Irene met and fell in love with Jack Huffman. They married the following November and had four children.

Irene was most importantly a wife, a mother, a grandmother, and a great-grandmother. She also worked outside the home for several years at Park Warehouse. But probably her greatest feat was being Jack’s caretaker as his health declined.

She was preceded in death by her infant son, David Daniel Huffman; her husband, Jack Francis Huffman; and her parents.

Irene is survived by two daughters, Cathy and Glenn Montgomery of Carrolton, and Ann and Reed Holt of Beaumont; one son, Jaye and Cathy Huffman of Farmers Branch; four grandsons, Tanner Holt, Drew Huffman, Josh Huffman, Shane Huffman; three granddaughters, Shaun McBride, Erin Montgomery, and Lauren Snyder; and seven great-grandchildren.
