Isidra Guerrero Jamie Chavez, a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away on April 24, 2023, at the age of 81 in Waco, Texas at Providence Hospital. Isidra was born on May 15, 1941, in Monte Blanco, Mexico to her parents Genaro Guerrero and Juana Jamie. She was one of five siblings.
In 1958, Isidra married Arturo Chavez, and they together raised 10 children. Isidra was a devoted mother and wife, and she worked tirelessly to provide for her family, often caring for her children on her own while her husband worked in the US. She joined her husband in moving to Clifton, Texas, in 1997.
Isidra loved spending time with friends and her family who lived next door, and she cherished the time they spent together. She was a woman of deep faith, who enjoyed going to church and was known for her devotion to the rosary prayers. She also appreciated simple pleasures in life such as walking, cooking, and peeling cactus.
Isidra was preceded in death by her husband Arturo, her son Rigo Chavez and two children who passed away at birth. She is survived by her children; Dora Marie Chavez, Delia Chavez, Berta Chavez, Juan Chavez, Maria Chavez, Theresa Chavez, Arturo Chavez, Juana Chavez and Hermina Chavez, as well as her many grandchildren and great -grandchildren. Isidra will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Visitation will be on Thursday, April 27th from 5PM to 7PM with Rosary at 6PM. A funeral mass will be held at Holy Angels Catholic Church in Clifton, Texas on Friday, April 28th at 1 PM, followed by interment at Clifton Memorial Park Cemetery.
