Jackie Olsen, 74, entered into eternal peace at her residence with family at her bedside following a long and courageous battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 2, 2016 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Clifton. Visitation from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at Clifton Funeral Home. Burial at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery.
Jackie was born on December 5, 1941, a daughter to the late Vernon Lee Hammond and Dortha Mae (McFarland) Hammond. Jackie attended and graduated from Blum High School, and later from Goodall-Witcher Nursing Program as a LVN. Jackie married Van Doren Olsen, Sr. on September 1, 1962. Jackie was a lifelong and devoted person of faith. She was baptized in 1960 and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran on January 27, 1963. She was an active member within the church and served on the church council and belonged to the women's guild. She also volunteered at the local food pantry.
Jackie was the fourth child of ten siblings. She was a beautiful sister, loving wife, amazing mother, and profound grandmother and great-grandmother. Growing up on a farm meant hard work and Jackie never shied away from hard work. Above all she enjoyed and loved her family. Family was the center of her world and she lived each day with a purpose. Jackie enjoyed sewing, needlepoint, Sister Weekends, and Thursday night appearances at the Cliftex Theater with her sisters where a movie preview picture has been devoted to their attendance.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Van Doren Olsen, Sr.; her father, Vernon Lee Hammond, her mother Dortha Mae (McFarland) Hammond; and her sister, Shirley June Reed.
She leaves her loving memories to be cherished by her loving children: Vanessa Ann and husband John Johnson of Clifton, Dorothy Marie and husband Charles Dean Hartley of Clifton, and Van Doren Olsen, Jr. and wife Brenda Lee of Clifton; nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, one brother, seven sisters, and countless nieces and nephews.
Friends and relatives are invited, and may call on the Olsen Family at 115 N. Ave. T, Clifton.
Memorial donations may be given to the American Cancer Society or Trinity Lutheran Church, Clifton.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Hospice Sunset (Lutheran Sunset Ministries, Clifton) for their support in her final days.
