James "Jim Bill" Harris

James William "Jim Bill Harris, 81, passed away on May 25, 2022. A memorial service will be held at 12:00 P.M. Saturday, July 16, 2022 at the First Presbyterian Church, Clifton.

Jim Bill was born on June 4, 1941, in Clifton, TX to George and Selma Harris. He graduated from Clifton High School and attended the Lutheran College for two years. On January 12, 1989, he married Barbara Warren. For over 30 years, he was a member of the National Guard and worked for the United States Postal Service. He was a volunteer at the Chamber of Commerce, the Conservatory of Arts, and the First Presbyterian Church. Jim Bill had a caring, generous heart, he was always willing to help people. Some of his hobbies included fishing, hunting, gardening, mowing his 40 acres of land, feeding the deer and birds, and taking the dogs for walks. He also enjoyed collecting coins and stamps, crossword puzzles and reading.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Selma and George Harris; 2 stepsons, Clint and Bart Bowden; in-laws, Melvin and Lucille Warren.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Harris; daughter, Stephanie Cherry; brother, Mac Harris; 5 granddaughters- Taylor Hughes, Storey Bowden, Laomai Cherry, Yasha, Chaya, and great grandson Asher Hughes.
