Clifton

Bobbie Janelle Dittrich, 84, of Clifton passed away Wednesday, November 11, 2020. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, November 14, 2020 at Clifton Funeral Home, Burial will follow at Boggy Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Janelle was born May 26, 1936, outside Mount Calm, Texas. She was the daughter of Opal Vivian Haught Wiley and Alva Leo Wiley. She attended school in Mount Calm and married Richard Doran Dittrich of the German Valley of Hamilton County, Texas, on September 16, 1960.

Janelle grew up on the farm performing the hard labor that all girls and boys once enjoyed in the country. In the spring she helped plant row crops. In the late summer, she picked cotton in the brutal Texas heat. In the cold early autumns, they butchered hogs and made lye soap. She chased the turkeys when swarms of grasshoppers came, fed the chickens, and wore dresses made of flour sacks.

Richard and Janelle lived in Grapevine for 45 years where they raised their three children. Janelle worked 25 years as a cafeteria manager at Grapevine-Colleyville ISD. All of her attention was focused on her Christian family. She dearly loved her family and worked diligently at home to keep them clean and well-fed. She was a woman of few words, but she loved nothing better than to listen for hours to stories and news of her children and grandchildren. We lovingly remember her warm smiles, gentle laughter, and tender affection. Richard and Janelle moved to Clifton in 2005, which was “closer to home” for both of them.

Janelle went on to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, November 11 at 4 am. Janelle was preceded in death by her dearly loved parents and her sister, Jeanette Anaya of Waco and her husband, Robert. She is survived by her husband of 60 years; her son, Don Dittrich and his wife, Melanie of Granbury, her son, Derek Dittrich and his wife, Tina of Hamilton, her daughter, Stephanie Eikelbarner and her husband, Ike of Keller; seven grandchildren, and one great-grandchild; two aunts, and several cousins.

The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to the wonderful staff, nurses caregivers, and hospice caregivers at Bridgewater Memory Care of Granbury. Their love and help over the last 3 months have been extraordinary.
