Jerry Don Sadler, 78, of Clifton passed away Saturday, October 31, 2020. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, November 14, 2020 at Trinity Lutheran Church. You may view the service online at https://www.facebook.com/trinityclifton.
Jerry Don Sadler was born on July 23, 1942 in Cayote,TX, to Millard Sadler Sr. and Clara Mae Sadler. He was the youngest of ten brothers and sisters.
Jerry married Karen Larson on April 27, 1962 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Clifton,TX. They had two children Donna Freedman of Valley Mills,TX and Bradley Sadler of Amarillo,TX.
Jerry started working at a very young age driving a cotton truck all over Texas for the family business. He then moved on to working at the Chevrolet House in Clifton building motors. He also worked for the U.S. Postal Service delivering mail. Jerry worked for Mrs. Baird's Breads as a delivery driver. His final job was at Chemical Lime Inc. where he started in sales and then moved to his role as a dispatcher of trucking. He finished his career as a Distribution Manager for Chemical Lime Inc. until he was forced to retire early due to health issues.
Jerry enjoyed playing golf with his family and friends. He was also an excellent teacher of the game. He enjoyed deer hunting and DIY projects. Jerry could fix anything, his motto was, “if someone else can do it then I can do it as well.” He enjoyed being outside working in the yard and took so much pride in his yard.
Jerry was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Clifton, TX., where he ushered on Sundays, was a member on the Church Board, and enjoyed helping with the Food Drive and the County Wide Garage Sales at the church until his health issues took over.
Jerry was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, he put family before everything else.
Jerry passed away October 31, 2020 at 12:03 AM at Ascension Providence Hospital in Waco,TX. He suffered from Multiple Myeloma Cancer, kidney failure, double pneumonia, a collapsed lung, and COVID-19 complications.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Millard and Clara Sadler; sisters, Nona Wentzell, Nelda Jo Miller, Bonnie Barber, Ina Chandler, Loyce Barr, and brother, Ivan Sadler.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Karen Sadler; daughter, Donna Freedman and husband, Michael; son, Bradley Sadler and wife, Juliana and her children, Hayley Burnett, Hunter Burnett and McKinzi Lewis; 3 grandchildren, Makenzie Sadler, Payton Sadler, and Dustin Freedman; brothers, Millard (Sonny) Sadler, Jr. and wife, Shirley, Wallace Sadler and wife, Fran; sister, Betty Latham and husband, Benny Loyd and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Honorary pallbearers are Millard (Sonny) Sadler, Wallace Sadler, Benny Loyd Latham, Merle Belcher, Bobby Tankersley, and B.J. Fielden.
Memorial contributions may be made to Baylor Scott and White McClinton Cancer Center Waco, Tx ; Fresenius - Waco West Kidney Center Waco, Tx.; Trinity Lutheran Church in Clifton, Tx.; and Goodall Witcher Hospital and Clifton Medical Clinic of Clifton, TX.
