Joe Duard Hinson

April 25, 1952 — August 5, 2021

Joe Duard Hinson was born April 25, 1952, to Joe Clyde and Joan Hinson. In 1970, he left Clifton High school 2 weeks shy of graduation to enlist in the US Navy. He served in naval combat operations off the coast of Vietnam and in the Persian Gulf during the first Desert Storm. Spanning around the globe, over the course of a more than twenty-year career, he served in a variety of roles. His assignments included serving on the decks of aircraft carriers during flight operations, a naval recruiter, and lastly, as a career counselor aboard the USS Leyte Gulf, retiring with the rank of Chief Petty Officer. After recovering from alcoholism, he returned to the church and by God’s grace, rekindled his spiritual life. Though not perfect, this would mark the remainder of his life as he sought for those around him to know the grace of Christ. He was married to Marina Last for 27 years raising 3 children: Milo, Jennifer, and Joe David. He was then married to Nelly Morato, raising 4 children: Kristine, Arnel, Jonell, and Joshua.

He was laid to rest in the Philippines with military honors on August 10, 2021.

Passing away August 5, 2021, he is survived by his sister, Sherrie Jay and husband Carl, brother Charles Hinson, son Milo Hinson and wife Racquel, daughter Jennifer Savell and husband Jason, son Joe David Hinson and wife Missy, daughter Kristine Hinson, son Arnel Hinson, daughter Jonell Hinson, and son Joshua Hinson.

Grandchildren include Zacquery, Marla, and Ramil Hinson; Weldon, Lily, and Noah Bleything; Joe Seth, and Benjamin Hinson. One great-granddaughter: Rhylan Bleything
