Joe Marshall Rohne

May 17, 1941 — July 13, 2022

Joe Marshall Rohne, 81, passed away July 13, 2022 in a memory care facility in Irving, TX. Visitation will be Monday, July 18, 2022, from 12:00 to 2:00 at the Clifton Funeral Home. Burial will follow immediately at the Old Rock Church Cemetery in Cranfills Gap.

Joe was born and raised in Cranfills Gap, TX. Joe moved to Dallas at the young age of 18 and started his career in the insurance industry where he remained until his retirement. He was very proud of his Norwegian heritage – he was 100% Norwegian. He loved his immediate and extended family, country western dancing, photography, beagles, windmills, making walking sticks, and eating anything sweet. One of our hobbies was browsing antique stores, flea markets and estate sales. Joe was always looking for anything old farm related that reminded him of his home place. Joe lived a full life but his quality of life was diminished by Parkinson’s and dementia. His body is now at peace and not hurting anymore.

He was predeceased in death by his mother and father, Ada Mae and Ingmar Rohne; his brother, Elvis Rohne; brother-in-law, Raymond Bartek; and brother-in- law, Dave Ponewash.

Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Rose Marie Rohne; son, Terry Rohne of Terrell; daughter, Misty (Eric) Cash of Dallas; daughter, Wendy (Derick) Miller of Carrollton, and sister, Lousie Bartek Ponewash of Whitney. Seven grandchildren – Tanner and Tyler Rohne, Ethan and Emma Cash, Addison and Austin Miller, and Alyssa (Tim) Flores. Four great-grandchildren – Marlee, Tyler Jr, Victoria, and Charleigh. Brother-in-law, Ken (Beth) Brandon; nephews, Garrett (Lizzie) and Lane Brandon; great-nephew, Nate.

Memorials/Tributes may be made to The Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, online at Tribute. MichaelJFox.org and do a search for his name. Can do donation online or download the form for mailing.
