John Owen Bingaman, 94, of Cranfills Gap passed away Monday, April 9, 2018, at Goodall Witcher Hospital in Clifton. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 12, 2018, at Cranfills Gap Cemetery with Rev. Ryan Pederson officiating.
Born September 13, 1923 in Tarentum, PA, he was the son of Arthur M. and Mary Bell (Stoup) Bingaman. During World War II, he served his country in the United States Army and was stationed in England, France, Belgium, and Germany. On July 27, 1945, John was united in marriage to Jane Donahey. Throughout his life, he worked as an electrician, mechanic, locksmith, and maintenance man. His hobbies included working on RV’s and cars and helping others in their time of need. He was a Mason and member of the VFW and American Legion.
Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Jane Bingaman on June 1, 2006; and son, James W. Bingaman on October 10, 2016.
Survivors include a son, John R. “Bob” Bingaman and wife, Mary, of Cranfills Gap; daughter-in-law, Judy Bingaman of Clifton; granddaughter, Renee D. Kelley and husband, Wilton; two grandsons, Johnny D. Wilson and Paul Bingaman; great-grandson, Jonathan B. Wilson; sister-in-law, Janice Donahey; and several nieces and nephews.
