John Gloff

John Gloff, 75, of Clifton passed away Monday, June 17, 2019. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, August 17, 2019 at the Fundamental Baptist Church, Clifton with Bro. George Watson officiating.

John Wallace Gloff was born in Bosque County on June 30, 1943, to Walter “ Turk ” and Ruby (Jones) Gloff. He was one of two children born to this family. He grew up in the Fairview and Cayote communities. He graduated from Valley Mills High School. He also attended North Texas State University, in Denton.

John was employed by Bosque County Precinct 3, for almost 30 years. He was a faithful volunteer for Meals-On-Wheels and the Clifton Food Bank for many years.

His retirement years were spent living on 19 acres of property that was ordinally purchased by his grandfather R. M. Jones. He was active in the Fundamental Baptist Church where he was blessed with the worship services, music, and fellowship.

John was an avid reader. He also enjoyed antiquing, collecting, as well as playing dominos and crossword puzzles. His friends and family knew him to be interested in most sports, but especially a fan of the Texas Rangers and the Dallas Cowboys.

John was preceded in death by his grandparents, Reuben M. And Christine Jones and Albert and Martha Gloff; parents, Walter and Ruby Gloff.

He is survived by his sister, Marsha K. Eary and Husband, Larry G. Eary; nephew, Aaron M. Eary and wife, Nicola; niece, Andrea L. Leeck and Husband, George; one great-niece, and three great-nephews; one great-great niece, one great-great-nephew all of Lake Conroe; and great aunt, Ruby Howard of Waco.
