Junelle Johnson

Junelle Loreene Swenson Johnson, 87 years of age, passed away on July 29, 2017 at Red Oak Health and Rehab in Red Oak. Funeral services will be held at The Rock Church on August 2, 2017 at 10:00 am. Visitation is scheduled from 9:00-9:50 am prior to the service and Interment will be at The Rock Church Cemetery.

Junelle was born to Lyman Osborne Swenson and Jennie Selma (Anderson) Swenson on February 13, 1930 and raised on the farm in the Harmony Community near Cranfills Gap in Bosque County.

Junelle was baptized and confirmed into faith on May 13, 1945 at Saint Olaf Lutheran Church. In 1947, she graduated from Cranfills Gap High School.

Junelle married Ivan Johnson on February 28, 1948. They were married for 68 years. Junelle was a member of the Saint Olaf Lutheran Church.

She enjoyed sewing, cooking, crafting, going camping, dancing and being with family and friends.

Junelle was preceded in death by her husband, Ivan; parents , Lyman and Jennie Swenson; sister, Earleene Hinton.

Junelle is survived by her sons, Dennis (Janette) of Red Oak, Maurice (Patricia) of Georgetown; Grandchildren, Angela (Gary) Sipes of Lorena, Craig (Kayla) Johnson of Liberty Hill, Kacie (Jacob) Glosson of Liberty Hill; great-grandchildren, Layla and Hayden Sipes, Landon and Dylan Johnson, Jase and Laramie Glosson and sister, Doris Sikorski of Bryan.
