Kenneth Ray Pledger, 89, of Clifton passed away Sunday, December 27, 2020 at Goodall Witcher Hospital. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at Clifton Memorial Park.
Kenneth was born on July 27, 1931 in Mabank to Oma Irene and William Edgar Pledger. He was one of four children born to the family. He graduated from Hampshire High School. On May 28, 1955, he married Jeanette Lynn Pledger at Highland Baptist Church in Beaumont.
Kenneth worked in the oilfield and they lived in Orange, Buna, Beaumont, Leveland, Brownfield, Plains, Fort Stockton, and Kermit where he retired from Texaco.
He was a founding member of Belvue Baptist Church in Kermit in 1963 and served as deacon until they moved to Clifton in 1995. He enjoyed mowing and tinkering in his shop and loved camping.
He is survived by his son, Kenny and wife, Liz of New Braunfels; daughter, Kathy and husband, Tom Davis of Fort Worth; daughter, Kelley and husband, Butch Lauderdale of Clifton; sister, Naoma and husband, Gary of Bloomfield, IA; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
