Laurel Paige Cross, 34, of Hewitt, TX passed away peacefully on Monday, September 6, 2021 after a lengthy illness with her parents by her side. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, September 26, 2021 at Cameron Park Club House 2601 N. University Parks Drive, Waco, TX 76708. In lieu of flowers, you may donate to an autoimmune charity of your choice. The family will be unable to accept flowers at the service location.
Laurel was born on August 7, 1987 in Texarkana, TX. She graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School in 2005. Laurel received her bachelor’s degree in Business Merchandising from the University of North Texas in Denton, TX in 2014. She was employed by Zale’s Corporate in Dallas, TX as a business analyst for a short time before becoming ill with several autoimmune diseases.
Laurel is survived by her parents David & Skyla Holliday of Hewitt, TX, brother, Keith Price and Partner, Kirby Ukens of Waskom, TX, Sister & Brother-in-law, Hailey & Dempsey Duprie of Hewitt, TX, Nephew, Jack Dempsey Duprie of Hewitt, TX, Uncle & Aunt, Brandon & Ali Gilpin of China Spring, TX, Uncle & Aunt, Mark & Lessie Holliday of Mt. Pleasant, TX, Uncle, Shane Gilpin of Mt. Pleasant, TX, Grandmother, Kay Gilpin of Mt. Pleasant, TX and Grandmother, Carolyn Holliday of Mt. Pleasant, TX. Other Family members, Father & Stepmother, Tony & Sharla Price, Brother, Samuel Price all of Mt. Pleasant, and numerous Cousins, Aunts, Uncles and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her Grand-father, William H. Gilpin, Grand-father, Willard Holliday, Grand-mother, Delois Price and several beloved Aunts and Uncles.
Laurel fought a long and difficult illness, but she will be remembered the most for her unwavering love of Christ, and the passion that she had for sharing His message with others. She had a beautiful and compassionate heart that touched everyone that she met. Her devotion and service to others is the gift that she leaves to this world.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to all the staff at Baylor Scott & White Hillcrest Medical Center in Waco for the compassion and care shown to our beautiful Laurel in her final days of life.
