Lucille Hovend

Lucille Hovend, 97, of Clifton passed away on Friday, March 18, 2016 at Goodall-Witcher nursing facility. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 21, 2016 at the Clifton Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Jerry Smith officiating. Burial at Norse Cemetery.

Born November 10, 1918 in Gatesville, TX, she was the daughter of George Alvin Sr. and Leona (Honeycutt) Jackson. She graduated from Clifton High School and went on to attend Beauty School in Waco. In January of 1942, she was united in marriage to Odin Hovend. Lucille worked as a hair stylist for 40 years, retiring from Chat-N-Curl in Clifton. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Clifton.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her brother Lee Roy Jackson of Ft. Worth; sisters Faye Griffin and husband Robert, of Oklahoma City, OK, Mary Barlow of Lebanon, OK. As well as many nieces and nephews.
