Margie Wolf

Margie Ann (Merkel) Wolf (78) of Clifton, Texas passed away on Saturday, October 15, 2016. There will be a visitation only on Saturday, October 22 from 5:00-7:00 P.M. at the First United Methodist fellowship hall only.

She was born to Lillian (Lampert) and Urban Merkel in Jasper, Indiana on October 26,1937. She graduated from Jasper High School in 1955. She married Richard Wolf and due to his work they moved around a lot to several states and while they were in Pennsylvania they had their first child Dawn(Wolf) Underwood. From there they moved to Douglas, Georgia and had their two sons Dru Wolf and Darrell Wolf. She was a stay at home mom until they were all in school and then she went to school to become a LVN (Licensed Vocational Nurse). After graduating nursing school the family moved to Marlin, Texas. Margie loved being a nurse and helping people. She was the first night nurse at Clifton Nursing Home when it was established. Even though she had worked at other homes over her career, she retired from nursing at the place she loved best (Clifton Nursing Home). She also loved all her grandkids and spending time with her family. They were her pride and joy. She loved traveling with her friends and visiting new sites and adventures.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lillian (Lampert) and Urban Merkel; brother, Larry Merkel; sister, Ginger (Merkel) Barclay.

Survivors include her daughter, Dawn (Greg) Underwood; sons, Dru (Kristen) Wolf of Mart, Texas, Darrell (Lou Ann) Wolf of Marlin, Texas; sisters, Betty (Paul) Harter, Patty (Ambrose) Hoffman both of Jasper, Indiana; brothers, Kenny (Joan) Merkel of Milton, Flordia, Gene (Bev) Merkel of Jasper, Indiana; 11 grandchildren: Jessica Underwood, Dakota Underwood, Dalton Wolf, Triston Wolf, Cole Wolf, Jerrett Wolf, Bailey Wolf, Richard Wolf, Peyton Wolf, Cody(Courtney) Record; Briana (CJ) Hudgins and 9 great- grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, monetary donations can be made at the First National Bank of Bosque County, P.O. Box 278, Valley Mills, TX 76689 (made payable to Dawn Underwood and in the memo section write: for Margie Wolf Memorial Fund.
